G2 Software has an exciting opportunity for a Windows/Linux systems administrator & DevSecOps engineer to join our team in San Diego, CA. This position involves managing and maintaining Windows & Linux Servers and Windows client machines in blended DOD cloud-hosted postures, including AWS, that host a variety of enterprise level software applications. Tasks will include:
- Managing and maintaining local client machines on Navy/DOD networks in keeping with all necessary cybersecurity processes and in coordination with NIWC PAC ROC/SOC/Cloud procedures.
- Managing and maintaining AWS-hosted EC2 instances & volumes to keep up with security vulnerabilities and patches
- Installing upgrades to hosted application software
- Troubleshooting client, server, and network problems/issues
We are looking for candidates that are very comfortable in a Windows environment within AWS and looking to expand that knowledge. A candidate will have an understanding of managing Windows and Linux servers in a DoD environment.
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is desired.
Required Skills:
Strong understanding of Windows Server Operating Systems and AWS hosting is required, and professional certification qualifying the candidate for IAT II systems administrator status is required. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have the following required skills:
- Familiarity with DOD/NIWC PAC RDT&E network operations
- HBSS, WSUS, ACAS scans, ACAS Console GUI, DISA STIGs, etc.
- Strong DevSecOps experience (Git, JIRA, Jenkins, Confluence, etc.)
- Experience applying DISA STIGs to Windows & Linux server OSs
- Networking, storage, and backup knowledge
- Experience imaging Windows 11 machines
- Experience with Domain Controllers/Active Directory
- Experience with VMWare/ESXi
- Experience managing Windows user accounts and accounts on hosted applications
- Experience updating BIOS, driver packages, etc.
- Strong Linux experience required:
- Linux STIGs, file system, permissions, paths, symbolic links, etc.
- Putty, MobaXterm, SSH
Desired Skills:
- AWS Operator and Supervisor training certificate
- AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate certificate
- Experience with AWS CloudWatch
- Familiarity with AWS RDS databases
- Strong scripting skills, PowerShell, bash, etc.
- Familiarity with Ansible and/or Puppet
- Familiarity with basic SQL commands and database concepts.
This position requires an individual to be a US citizen and either have, or be able to obtain, and retain a DoD clearance.
Location: This is a hybrid position. The workforce is required to report physically to the San Diego, CA location at least once a week. Additional days may be required from time to time to support workloads.
The pay range for this position in California is $120,000/year to $150,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract wages, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors.
